Every watch purchased directly through Patina Horology is covered by a One-Year Mechanical Guarantee from the date of sale, covering the mechanical operation of the movement under normal use.
If a mechanical problem develops, contact me before having the watch opened, adjusted, or repaired by anyone else.
Timekeeping
Every watch is regulated to perform as accurately as reasonably practicable for its age, movement, and condition. Vintage mechanical watches will vary with position, temperature, power reserve, wearing habits, and other factors and should not be expected to perform like modern chronometers.
Individual listings may include observed timing results, but these are not guarantees of identical performance on the wrist.
For purposes of this guarantee, a watch running more than two minutes per day fast or slow under ordinary use may be considered for adjustment or service. I strive to regulate every watch substantially better than this threshold whenever the movement permits.
What Isn't Covered
The guarantee does not cover:
- impact, physical damage, or misuse;
- water or moisture intrusion;
- magnetization;
- unauthorized opening, adjustment, or repair;
- normal wear or normal variation inherent to vintage mechanical watches; or
- the case, crystal, crown, dial, hands, strap, bracelet, or other non-movement components.
Water Resistance
No vintage watch sold by Patina should be assumed to be water resistant.
Where practical, I restore case seals and may pressure test a watch before final assembly. Any such work or testing is documented in the individual listing, but does not guarantee continued water resistance. Exposure to water is at the owner's risk and water or moisture damage is not covered by this guarantee.
