Why I Love This Watch
A classic 1960s Omega Seamaster with beautifully restrained proportions, an elegant 14K gold-filled case, and one of Omega's iconic 550 series automatic movements. Produced for the U.S. market, this example uses a domestically manufactured Ross case paired with a Swiss Omega movement—a distinctive piece of Omega's American-market history.
This particular watch is in exceptional condition. It was worn sparingly and had no service marks when I opened it, indicating it is a true barn find.
Restoration Notes
I personally completed a full service of the Omega Cal. 550 movement using industry-standard methods, Moebius lubricants, and proper watchmaking tools. The movement was disassembled, cleaned, inspected, lubricated, reassembled, regulated, and functionally tested. The original Omega-signed acrylic crystal was retained, and a new OEM Omega crown with fresh gaskets was installed.
