The two-tone bull’s-eye dial combines a brushed slate-gray center with a glossy black outer track, prominent luminous markers, white baton hands, and a vivid orange seconds hand. The internal elapsed-time bezel and “Deep Sea 666 Feet” signature complete the distinctive late-1960s design. Beneath the dial is the Accutron Cal. 2182 tuning-fork movement. Rather than ticking like a conventional mechanical watch, it produces the characteristic Accutron hum while driving the seconds hand with an unusually fluid sweep. Together with the substantial cushion case and massive domed crystal, it makes the Deep Sea feel unlike almost anything else produced at the end of the 1960s. This example also retains the distinctive embossed Bulova “ballerina” case back. Its M9 date code confirms 1969 production.
In 2024, the original Accutron Cal. 2182 tuning-fork movement was regulated. It is operating well and keeping time. No movement components were replaced. The existing case gaskets were inspected, found to remain supple, relubricated, and retained. The watch was not pressure-tested because I did not want to risk damaging the exceptionally well-preserved internal bezel. The watch head retains its original case, engraved ballerina case back, dial, hands and tritium lume, orange seconds hand, domed acrylic crystal, both signed crowns, internal elapsed-time bezel, and Cal. 2182 movement. No watch-head components were replaced. The stainless-steel mesh bracelet is a period-correct aftermarket replacement rather than the watch’s original bracelet.

| Band / Strap | Excellent. Fitted to a period-correct aftermarket stainless-steel mesh bracelet similar to the bracelets originally supplied with some examples. Other examples were sold on Tropic-style straps. The bracelet fits wrists up to approximately 7.5 inches. |
