What began as a blue-dial Longines Ultra-Chron has aged into a remarkable gray-and-silver "ghost" pattern, with traces of the original blue still visible at the center. Its creamy lume, applied Longines signature, and Ultra-Chron frequency-wave emblem give the dial extraordinary depth, while the front-loading monocoque case and high-beat Cal. 431 capture Longines at its most technically ambitious.
Restoration Notes
I personally completed a full service of the original Longines Cal. 431 using industry-standard methods, lubricants, and proper watchmaking tools. The movement was disassembled, cleaned, inspected, lubricated, reassembled, regulated, and functionally tested. The original hands were carefully relumed in a muted cream tone to complement the aged tritium indices; the unsigned crown is a replacement.

Condition Notes
Case
The front-loading monocoque case presents well with honest wear from use. No personalizations or major damage are noted.
Crystal
Clear acrylic crystal with only minimal scratches and surface wear.
Dial and Hands
The formerly blue dial has aged into a distinctive gray-and-silver ghost pattern, retaining blue at the center. Applied silver indices and logos remain, while portions of the white printing are visible only under certain lighting. The original hands were relumed in a dull cream tone to complement the aged tritium indices.
Movement
Original Longines Cal. 431 automatic high-beat movement operating at 36,000 BPH. Recently serviced and reported to be running accurately, with the sweep-seconds and date functions operating correctly.
Band / Strap
New-old-stock gray leather strap tapering from 18mm at the lugs to 16mm at the aftermarket steel buckle, which is signed with a vintage Longines logo.
Gaskets / Seals
Water resistance has not been established. Assume no water resistance due to the watch's age.
